Self-concept is how one thinks or feels about themselves. A positive self concept exerts confidence whilst a weak self concept exerts little confidence. Perception is how one looks at others and the world around them. So perception and self concept are related in that you perceive the world in ways that are in keeping with your self concept.

How you look at the world depends on what you think of yourself, and what you think of yourself will influence how you look at the world. Strategic flexibility in relation to self perception and self concept depends on what perceptions managers have of the company and the self- concept of themselves if they are capable in driving the business into success.
